| Peter C Barclay XXXI of Towie Barclay and of that Ilk was born in Rome, Italy on 26th
February 1938, where his father, Lieutenant-Colonel Walter Patrick Barclay, The Black
Watch, was Assistant Military Attaché. Educated at Eton College, Peter Barclay did his
National Service with The Black Watch, serving in Germany and Scotland. In 1967, he
succeeded his second cousin once removed, Theodore Bruce de Tollie Barclay, as Chief of
the name Barclay. Peter is a Life Member of the National Trust for Scotland and a
Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Carpenters, one of the City of London Livery
Companies from which the Lord Mayor is chosen annually. He resides in London. |
